It’s that time of year where so many people make resolutions that last maybe a few weeks or maybe even months. I usually write goals instead, and after looking over the goals I set for 2018, I think I did a pretty good job of meeting most of them. Here are some of the goals I accomplished …with the Lord’s help of course!
- Finished the Nursery and had a healthy baby girl!
- Resumed work and children’s choir ministry at church
- Got my dream car! (Blog on this one to follow later)
- Started projects around the house
- More prayer and Bible reading
- More family time
There were a few things I didn’t achieve, but in my defense… I did have a baby last year! Those that can carry over into this year are:
- More Bible Study (not just reading, but STUDY)
- Tame the tongue (and my facial expressions)
- Find a way to serve the community
- Finish those home projects

And finally, some new ones for this year:
- Less screen time
- Organize/declutter
- Blog at least 2x a month
I have also seen people have words or mottos to focus on for the New Year. I haven’t done this in the past, but one word has kept coming into my mind as I thought about the New Year approaching… so I have adopted the following word for 2019:
Authentic.
I want there to be no doubt to those I come in contact with that I really do love Jesus. I want people to trust that when I comment ‘praying’ on Facebook I don’t just keep scrolling… I stop and actually say a prayer for them. I want to be ‘real’ and relatable. I am by no means perfect, but I am genuinely trying to get past the uncomfortable, be honest about my shortcomings, and just be the brightest, awkward little light I can be this year and always.

Great job!
