When I began thinking about blogging, I started researching. I work in research and data management, so it’s in my nature to investigate anything and everything. The pieces of advice that I read most were: select a niche, find something you’re passionate about, and pick something you’re an expert or knowledgeable in that you can write about more than just a few times.
I began thinking and couldn’t come up with a thing! Awkward much!? I mean, I’m good at things, but I wouldn’t consider myself an expert at anything. I have some good ideas every now and then, but could they sustain a blog? The only thing that kept coming to my mind, that I was truly passionate about, was my faith.
I feel like while there are huge topics of faith and Christiaity to write on, our biggest ministry and witness comes from our steadfastness in every day life, so that’s what I write about.
I’m a soon to be 34 year old wife and new mom. I’m also a step-mom to two great kids, and a fur-mom to our Spaniel/Dachshund mix dog, Copper. I’ve been playing the piano since I was 10, I help with the kids choir at church, and I speak ASL (not fluently, but I can get the job done). I have a Bachelor’s degree in Theatre Performance with a minor in Music. My husband and I are truly blessed with jobs, a home, working vehicles, health, food on the table, awesome friends, and wonderful families. I’m a Christian, but I’m not perfect. I have a lot of things to work on, but His mercies are new every morning.
I’m also slightly introverted. I love people, but I need to get to know someone first before feeling comfortable, and even then sometimes I am still quiet or don’t know what to say or do. I’m also one of those people who need time to recharge after a few busy days. Thankfully, I have friends that understand, I get to work from home, and I now have a blog that allows me to share my thoughts and ideas.
So, that’s me in a nutshell. A little awkward, but I love Jesus.
